Juhani Ojala is the Chief Geoscientist in the GeoPool and Aurion Resources Ltd. exploration team. Before the current position he worked at GTK as a Senior Scientist. His work experience at GTK includes Head of Unit, Division Manager, Research Professor and Senior Scientist.
He has also worked as a Senior Geologist for the Store Norske Spitsbergen Grubekompani. Juhani has gained his PhD from the University of Western Australia on the structural and depositional controls of gold. After PhD and Post-Doctoral studies he worked as an independent consultant and a Principal Geoscientist for the Georeality Group in Australia.

Therese Bejgarn has a background in economic geology, including research and exploration. She has been managing international collaborative technology development and innovation projects within the mining industry, and lately also been working with EU research and innovation funding towards academia and enterprises within the raw material sector. She enjoys working with outreach activities to stir the interest for our sector and raise the awareness regarding its importance for a sustainable society and green economy. Therese is currently working in the surveys strategic operations with e.g. participation in collaboration initiatives, promotion of geological research and management of the surveys research funding.

Professor Pertti Lamberg (PhD, geology), Anglo Amercian’s Sakatti Project Manager and CEO of AA Sakatti Mining Oy, has more than 30 years’ experience in mining industry and academia.
He worked in different R&D positions in Outokumpu and Outotec between 1990 and 2010. In 2011-2016 Pertti worked as a Professor in Geometallurgy in Luleå University of Technology, and in 2016-2020 as CEO of Keliber Oy. He joined Anglo American in June 2020. Pertti has wide technical expertise from exploration, resource characterization, geometallurgy, process design and mining project development and management.

Christoph Frey has been working in the natural graphite sector for over 25 years. He worked for many years as technical director at Graphit Kropfmühl AG (AMG Mining AG, Germany). From 2007 to 2009 he was General Director of Qingdao Kropfmuehl Graphite Ltd. (Qingdao, China). He has served on the board of directors of graphite companies in China, Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka and Mozambique. He is the founder of the graphite consulting company ProGraphite GmbH. He has been with MRC Commodites Ltd since 2020 and currently serves as General Manager for Skaland Graphite AS.

Jeroen van Gool has geology degrees from universities in the Netherlands (M.Sc) and Canada (PhD) specialising in structural geology and metamorphic petrology. After working for the Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland (GEUS) in the Greenland geological mapping department, Jeroen joined the mineral exploration scene in 2008 working for Scandinavian Highlands AS on base metal and gold projects in Germany and Scandinavia. Since 2013 he has worked as geological consultant, mainly in exploration projects in Scandinavia and in Greenland, both free-lance and for SRK Exploration Services. Since 2018 his main involvement has been in the development of the Ti-P-V resources in the Sokndal-Bjerkreim layered intrusion complex in southern Norway.

Nils Rune has 15 years’ experience from the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD), and holds a Master Degree in volcanology from the University of Bergen (2007). He is the Coordinator of the NPD team dedicated to mapping the potential of seabed minerals on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. He is also interested in the western part of the Norwegian Sea, and the development of the large Paleocene- Eocene rift systems. He has been Coordinator of several licensing rounds on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.

Jouko Nieminen is a Head of Unit Circular Economy Solutions at GTK. In his current position at GTK he and his team of specialists provides solutions to different areas in circular economy, exploration, geometallurgy, geology, re-mining, mineral processing, and material research. He is an experienced businessman with a versatile background from B2B business development, geology and mining, hotel and restaurant business and analytical equipment and automations. Jouko Nieminen studied geology and mineralogy in the University of Turku and graduated in 2000. As a geologist he worked in versatile projects in Sweden, Australia and as a researcher at the University of Turku.

Charlie Seabrook has over 15 years’ experience in geology and exploration having completed her PhD at the University of Witwatersrand. Prior to joining Rupert, Charlie worked on gold projects in West Africa and gold copper projects in central Africa and Australia. She holds an MSc Mineral Resources (Cum laude) from the University of Wales (Cardiff) and is based in Finland.

Eric Roth is an Economic Geologist with 30 years’ experience in mineral exploration and project development globally. Recent discovery successes include the Hod Maden gold-copper deposit in Turkey with Mariana Resources, and the Cerro Moro gold-silver deposit in Argentina with Extorre Gold Mines. Eric is a graduate of the University of Western Australia and a Fellow of the AusIMM.

Richard J. Goldfarb received his BSc in geology from Bucknell U., MSc in hydrogeology at University of Nevada-MacKay School of Mines, and his PhD in geology at the University of Colorado. He was a research geologist at the U.S. Geological Survey for 36 years where his studies focused on global metallogeny, geology of ore deposits in the North American Cordillera with emphasis on orogenic gold, lode gold deposits in China, and geochemical applications to the understanding of ore genesis. He is a past-president of the SEG and past chief editor of Mineralium Deposita. He was awarded the Silver Medal by SEG in 2011, Kutina-Smirnov Medal by IAGOD in 2014, and the Gold Medal by SGA in 2021 for his various contributions to economic geology. Presently, Rich is a research professor at Colorado School of Mines, serves as a technical advisor to Firefox Gold Corp., and is an independent consultant to the exploration and mining industry.

Jan Sverre Sandstad is Senior Geologist in the Section for Mineral Resources at the Geological Survey of Norway. He received his M.Sc. in ore geology from the Norwegian Technical University (NTH), now NTNU, in 1981. His main scientific interests include sediment-hosted Cu, orogenic gold, iron formations and VMS deposits, as well as the metallogeny of the Fennoscandian Shield. He is active in Nordic-Russian collaboration projects (FODD). Jan Sverre has extensive experience with regional-scale bedrock mapping, and he was heavily involved in a regional mapping programme in Mozambique. He was leader of MINN – a mapping programme focussing on the mineral resources in North-Norway (2011-15), and in 2019-20 he was leader of the Mineral Resources team at NGU.
